Langley quiz time

Langley quiz time

I have always loved a quiz and so was pleased to hear that our local Eden Park cafe/wine bar, Langley Quarter, were hosting a quiz for the first time tonight.

Manager Chelsea and her staff run a most welcoming establishment and I can heartily recommend their drinks, daily menu and engaging service.

On this occasion, quizmaster George James had set an intriguing mix of questions and the room was soon filled with light-hearted debate about the suitability of many an answer.

I had gathered a team of four: Langley Quarter barista Tasha, Sally Chambers – Business Manager for local neighbours Beckenham Hearing – plus my son Ben, and we tackled the range of topics with gusto. Sometime effectively, sometimes not so.

The evening passed with all in increasingly loud good spirits and many a singalong during the music elements added to the upbeat atmosphere.

We didn’t finish first, especially as we were ten points adrift of the winners, but we didn’t finish last either. I now know which country gave all of its female population the vote first: New Zealand. Who knew? I will also never forget the name of Hercule Poirot’s secretary again either: Miss Lemon.

The event was a roaring success and Chelsea advised me today that they already have booked the next quiz for mid-November. Can’t wait!
