Head above water

Days, when she wanted to be with him.
Nights, when she wanted to scream.
Years, when a man was a fantasy,
just one of her dreams.

Keeping her head above water,
keeping her head above water,
keeping her head.

Eyes, that she wanted to look into.
Lips, that she wanted to kiss.
Hands, that would touch her in such a way,
she couldn’t resist.

Keeping her head above water,
keeping her head above water,
keeping her head.

Maybe one day
he’ll step in between
the cups of cold coffee
and her magazines.
And whisk her away
with her bottom drawer
down from the shelf
out onto the floor
onto the floor.

Keeping her head above water,
keeping her head above water,
keeping her head above water,
keeping her head.
