I walked to Langley Sports Club, Eden Park, this evening to catch saxophonist Derek Nash and his premier four piece consisting of double bassist Geoff Gascoyne, drummer Matt Skelton and pianist Richard Busiakiewicz.
The regular club night, Jazz Den, is put on by hardworking Essex promoter Susan May, who I thank for the warm welcome and useful information on the events she arranges in the south east. Jazz Den, a well-established live music Beckenham night out, is held every 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday and is a great way to catch some major jazz names in an intimate environment.
