I was pleased to attend a celebration this evening, at The Crown in Southwark, of the work of trumpeter and bandleader Chris Hodgkins who for 29 years has been the Chief Executive of Jazz Services. A packed crowd gave Chris deserving kudos for his term of significant commitment and service to the jazz community. Those on hand included pianist Andrea Vicari, saxophonist, bandleader and tutor Frank Griffiths, plus it is always a joy to meet Sue Dalton of Help Musicians UK.
