My MU colleague Sam Jordan and I attended a presentation this afternoon, in the Boardroom at UK Music‘s offices in 49 Whitehall, given by the organisers of ‘BBC Introducing hosts Amplify 17′, a new event scheduled to be held at London’s ExCel on 6 – 8 October.
James Giddings, of show organisers SME London Ltd, and Lyndsey Boggis – who is responsible for the editorial content of the event – talked through their plans to an invited audience of UK Music representatives from PRS Music Foundation, AIM, PPL, BASCA and other UK Music member industry organisations.
The options to purchase commercial space, sponsor an area at the event, or host a showcase, masterclass, seminar or workshop, were discussed with the trade bodies agreeing to report back to their respective managements before deciding on the way forward.
