100 Club

Photographer Jonathan Stewart and I have been building an extensive gallery of British musicians for over a decade and the opportunity to add to this collection presented itself this evening, thanks to a gig at the 100 Club featuring Bob Jackson’s Badfinger.

The legendary band were originally signed to Apple and had several hits in a Beatles vein, before a tragic series of events and band issues impacted upon the principal musicians during the 1970s. Bob Jackson joined the band in 1974 and is still performing under the name. However, before his headline line-up took to the famous stage, the support act of Burnz delivered an excellent set of rock originals. I recommend checking them out.

It was also a pleasure to meet drum tech Lee Langton and Simple Minds drummer Mel Gaynor in the audience. I daresay we will be meeting again at this year’s London Drum Show at Olympia in November!
