100 Club blues

I could be found at an energised 100 Club tonight, where six-piece Blue Commotion – led by guitarist Rob Koral and vocalist Zoe Schwarz – blasted through tracks from their new CD: The blues don’t scare me. The outfit has already received considerable praise from blues fans and cognoscenti, including the BBC’s very own blues king, Paul Jones. It was great to see and hear the excellent rhythm section of bassist Phil Mulford and drummer Paul Robinson, plus the fine playing of organist Pete Whittaker. Providing superb support were New Jersey’s Billy Walton Band, known for his touring the UK with Southside Johnny.
