Gary Crosby

Gary Crosby

An emotional afternoon as the hugely influential bassist and educator Gary Crosby OBE and his highly-respected business and personal partner Janine Irons OBE together discussed ‘Records That Made Us’ and carried a small but delighted audience through the history of ‘Tomorrow’s Warriors‘, plus the musicians and bands they have nurtured to national recognition over the last three decades.

These artists include so many at the heart of the contemporary jazz scene: Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia, Cassie Kinoshi and Nérija, Femi Koleoso and Ezra Collective, Binker Golding, Shabaka Hutchings and Sons Of Kemet, Cherise Adams-Burnett, Eska, Denys Baptiste, Soweto Kinch, Zara McFarlane, and so many more.

A wonderful intimate event and a perfect introduction to the performance space at 347 Old Street. My thanks to sponsors Courvoisier and the staff who gave all in attendance such a warm welcome.
