Each year the Lords Taverners, who have been empowering young people through cricket since 1950, host a fund-raising carol concert. This year the event was held in the glorious surroundings of the ‘Cathedral of the Arts and Crafts’, the Holy Trinity Church in Sloane Square, Chelsea, and I was kindly invited as a guest of the Music Committee.
The concert featured inspiring performances by the wonderful Holst Singers, conducted by Chair of the Music Committee, Nicholas Cleobury; together with readings by the Master of the King’s Music, Errollyn Wallen CBE; plus comedian Miles Jupp and actors Owen Teale, Sylvestra Le Touzel and Stuart Bowman. These well known names were also joined by a memorable and moving contribution by Tavs’ Youth Ambassador Sophie Buckland.
