I met up with Ashley Blasse this afternoon in Exmouth Market. Ashley is a rising star in the world of improvisation and production, with focus on a wide-ranging choice of genres, including pop, theatre and video. Gaining respect and reviews for solo lines and arrangements, their playing on guitar, double bass, mandolin and ukulele has contributed to a range of live productions including shows in theatres across the south-east.
Ashley’s classical training ensured an excellent introduction into the session world and their promise and skills have been developed as a team member of the superb Tomorrow’s Warriors, under the tutelage of the legendary Gary Crosby.
Ashley also runs a Woolwich-based production studio named Sailor Cat Sound Ltd. This serves as a main hub for production and compositional work, plus crucially provides a safe, consistent space for members of the LGBTQI community to create and develop their music.
